GETTING TO
BALD HEAD ISLAND
Bald Head is accessible by passenger ferry only.
Once on the Island, transportation is by golfcart.
FERRY BOOKING OPENS IN JANUARY
1: BOOK FERRY
Download the BHI Ferry app or go to www.baldheadislandferry.com.
Schedule Arrival and Departure
- Select your arrival and departure date.
- Follow the prompts to schedule both your ferry and tram reservation.
(the tram will take you directly to your rental or the wedding)
Save Tickets
- You will receive your tickets by email and/or text.
- Add them to your wallet or keep under My Tickets in the app.
Guests Coming For The Day
- When booking the tram, use the address: 105 Light House Wynd (The Chapel)
- Schedule a tram both ways - it will pick you up at the end of the evening.
- Or you can take a 7 minute walk.
2: ARRIVE AT MARINA
Deep Point Marina: 1301 Ferry Rd SE, Southport, NC 28461
Plan to arrive 20-30 minutes before your ferry departure time.
Luggage
- If you have luggage, follow the road down to the lower level drop off area.
- If your items do not already have a luggage tag, there are complementary tags here.
- Unload your belongings on the curb and wait for an employee to put them in a cart.
**Note your luggage cart number, this will help you find it on the other side.
Parking
- Follow the road around to the gated parking area.
- Park your car in the lot and walk back to the marina.
Ferry Boarding
- Wait for the ferry in the reservation boarding area.
3: RIDE THE FERRY
Seating
You can choose to sit inside on the lower deck or outside on the upper deck
Relax!
The ferry will take you on a 30 minute ride to the island.
4: TRAM SERVICE
Get Your Tram #
- Wait in the tram reservation line to give the driver your destination address and get your assigned tram number.
- Locate your tram number. If you're a day visitor, hop in and wait!
Collect Your Luggage
- Find your luggage cart number that you noted on the other side
- Grab your bags, and bring them over to your tram.
- Set your bags beside the tram for the driver to load.
Enjoy the Ride
- The tram will drop off all passengers at their various addresses
